Marian Rivera vs Katrina Halili in the Making, Again?

Another hot issue in the showbiz world that's cooking now is the Katrina Halili vs Marian Rivera. Just recently, Katrina tweeted that "somebody is still insecure" to her that is why she decided to kill her character Emmy in the soap opera series "My Beloved".

Katrina further tweeted that "5 years ago, nangyari na ito at hanggan ngayon ay hate pa rin nya ako".

She however did not name names but it is very clear that it was Marian Rivera she was referring to. There has been some 'not so nice moements' between the two stars of 'My Beloved' recently. During the birthday party of their co-star in her residence where Katrina and Marian both attended, when Marian was about to leave, she bade goodbye to all excep Katrina.

In another scenario, during the taping of 'My Beloved', Katrina intentionally slapped Marian even the director instructed her to fake the slap. It's a good thing that Marian did not retaliate and just proceeded to the dressing room after the incident.

Marian Rivera's Marimar Conquers China

Marian Rivera has once again proven her marketability. The show that catapulted her career into stardom is soon to be shown in Chinese televisions. This means that Marian is to be watched by more or less than one billion households in China with "Marimar".

A Chinese television network has reportedly bought the exclusive rights of airing "Marimar" in China with their TV station there in China. "Marimar" is to be dubbed in Chinese language Mandarin, just like what we are doing here with Korean and Mexican telenovelas wherein they are dubbed into Tagalog.

Marian Rivera is excited about this development since she will be expanding her fan base and surely, with her beauty and acting prowess, she will soon captivate the hearts of the Chinese audience.

Marian is joined by her real life boyfriend and long time love team partner Dingdong Dantes.

Marian Rivera vs Carla Abellana in the Making?

When Carla Abellana was just starting in showbiz, many were saying that she will be the next Marian Rivera or even surpass the popularity Marian had. There were comparisons too and what was remarkable in the comparisons was Carla was an honor student in college while Marian isn't.

Another is Marian's attitude. She is known as "maldita" to the press and to her co-workers and even to some of her fans. It was even video taped when Marian's tantrum broke out during one of her tapings. Carla is know to be silent and behaved and goes well with her co-workers and fans.

But when the two celebrities come face-to-face in one showbiz event and interviewed by press, both said there is no competition going on between them.

But lately, a showbiz column reported Marian is doing otherwise. It reported that in one showbiz event where the two were both guests, Marian refused to share her dressing room with Carla because she wants the room exclusive for her.

Then in a taping of "Darna", Marian came late and when she arrived she was heard saying "dumating na ang reyna na walang bulaklak sa tenga" which reallyh stunned those who heard it. She was referring to Carla who always has a flower in her ear for her role in her top rating soap "Rosalinda".

Is Marian buying a war? Maybe not, it's just Marian doing her "maldita" way.

Marian Rivera Starrer "Darna" Teaser

Here is the teaser of Marian Rivera's upcoming fantaserye "Darna". It will hit the Philippine TV's this coming August, 2009.

Marian Rivera Starts Taping Darna Today

MARIAN RIVERA is going to start taping today her upcoming fantaserye "Darna". Marian is very excited to wear the custume of Darna and she doesn't mind any pressure even intrigues of comparing her with Angel Locsin.

It can be noted that Angel once portrayed the role of Darna when she was still in the Kapuso network. "Darna" with Angel was a huge success and this will be a pressure to take not only by Marian but also the whole cast and staff of the new "Darna". Angel's "Darna" was consistent in the ratings and it stayed in the top spot during its airtime.

But Marian is quick to say she doesn't mind what other people are saying and she doesn't think of the pressure set unto them. She says they are going to do their best to make the new Darna appealing to the viewing public and even try to surpass the success of Angel's Darna.

Marian is also thankful to Angel saying Angel even congratulated her in her portrayal of the role. "Hindi kamimagkagalit na dalawa. Kinongratulate nga niya ako sa kanyang interview," Marian said.

There are also rumors that Marian didn't approved the inclusion of Katrina Halili in the cast. But Marian denied the rumors and even stressed Katrina made a big role in the success of "Marimar" with Dingdong Dantes. "Bakit ko naman po tatanggihan ang isang artista na makakatulong para maging successful ang isang proyekto?" Marian said in an interview.

Marian is joined by Nadine Samonte as Babing Tuod, Iwa Moto as Babaing Ahas and Krissa Mae as Babaing Linta.

Marian also laughs when asked about her custume that other described it as "super sexy". Marian said the custume is not yet finished and they are still finalizing the details in it.

Darna is set to be aired in August.

Dingdong Dantes as Zuma

Dingdong Dantes is said to portray the role of Zuma, the comics character created by Jim Fernandez in the 70's.

Zuma is a monster character with a two headed snake that rests on his shoulder. Zuma first appeared in comic series Aztec and later on gained it's popularity with the series "Anak Ni Zuma" in Aliwan Komiks.

It had a prequel "Angkan Ni Zuma" which chronicles Zuma's adventures inancient times. Then his future descendant "Zuma-Maria" and then it had it's own comic book series (although short-lived) titled Zuma Komiks.

Zuma's character has been also into films twice, the original "Zuma" and the sequel "Anak Ni Zuma". Both movies were topbilled by actor Max Laurel.

This remake of "Zuma" will introduce this comics character to the new generation. So far, most comics characters made into films today are those characters created by Carlo J. Caparas, himself, a comics writer legend.

Actor/producer Carlo Maceda will produce the movie. He already talked with Dingdong and Dingdong is said to be interested in the project. They are planning to release "Zuma" within this year.

This movie will temporarily separate Dingdong from his perennial on-screen partner Marian Rivera, who is said to be his real-life girlfriend. Almost all movies/TV shows of Dingdong are with Marian as his leading lady.

Regal Entertainment has already revealed their plan of pairing Marian with Vhong Navarro in a comedy movie. Although there is no confirmation as of this writing, they are said to be working on the details and make an official statement for the movie soon.

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes prove they still got the numbers. This after the new record they set in GMA-7's live chat. The official figure says a combined total of 6,908 were thrown to Dingdong and Marian within the two hour chat.

"It's an all time high chat new record" says a GMA-7 executive. Most of the quesions pertain to their new soap opera "Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang". Some fans suggested they don't like the character portrayed by the couple, but most of them are supportive anyway.

“Naiintindihan ko ang reaction ng fans, pero maiintindihan din nila sa mga susunod na episode kung bakit ganu’n si Proserfina. Ang importante, nagagawa namin nang tama ang trabaho namin at ‘Proserfina’ ang tawag sa akin ngayon ng tao.” Marian said.

“Hintayin nila ang transformation ng character ni Homer, magiging exciting na siya. Mas titindi rin ang conflict nila ni Rado (Gerald Anderson),” promised Dingdong.

Aside from their show, some personal questions were also thrown at them. Dingdong admitted he gave Marian a white blanket as valentine gift for Marian to use in their tapings. It's a simple gift but Dingdong said it is "meaningful and significant".

Marian however didn't disclosed her gift to Dingdong but she said they had dinner together with the cast and staff of Tadyang.

The initial plan is to have the three big stars to star in a film trilogy. Dingdong and Marian in one film, Robin for the second and they are still finalizing the third episode.

Insiders say that Golden Lions has already had an initial talks with the mother studios of Marian and Dingdong namely Regal Entertainment and GMA Films respectively.

Marian added that since she has two entries in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, she will be in the float of "Desperadas 2" on the first part of the Parade of the Stars on December 24, and in the second half, she will be in the "Shake, Rattle & Roll 10" float.

Marian Rivera Speaks About the 'Plastikada' Issue

Marian Rivera admits she was hurt when a reporter calls her 'plastikada' during the presscon of her movie "Desperadas 2".

It can be remembered that it was entertainment writer-columnist Ernie Pecho who called Marian 'plastikada'. The issue started when Marian went to Universal Records (where Ernie is the alleged company's PRO) office for her dance album. Ernie approached Marian and requested her to sign her poster. At that time, Marian was talking to somebody. Marian signed the poster but then said 'istorbo', referring to Ernie.

"Siguro kahit sino namang tao, harap-harapan na nasa presscon ka tapos gaganunin ka, siguro kahit sino namang lumagay sa katayuan ko, mararamdaman din po yun. Alam ko kasi sa pagiging suplada ko, sa pagiging maldita ko, nasa lugar naman ako. At aminado naman ako do'n, di ba? Pero yung plastic, never akong naging plastic," Marian stressed.

Dingdong Dantes Talks About Marian Rivera, Karylle

Dingdong Dantes has finally broken his silence amidst the growing controversy over Marian Rivera's pregnancy and Karylle.

Dingdong supported Marian's statement denying the pregnancy issue. “Alam niya iyon, sinagot na niya iyon and I don't want to get into that anymore. As much as possible I really don't want to get into the middle of everything. Ang sa akin lang I'm always for the truth and the truth will set you free," Dingdong said in an interview with abs-cbnNews.com.

He however didn't clarify his 'real relationship' with Marian. "Parang corny kapag sinabi mong 'friends.' I don't want to label anything as of this moment.” he said.

Dingdong admitted meeting Karylle recently but according to him it's "coincidental".

"Oo nagkita kami coincidentally. (Nagkasalubong kami) dalawang beses lang doon at tsaka sa airport," Dingdong said.

Karylle Explains Her "Controversial Smile"

Karylle airs her side about her controversial smile in ABS-CBN showbiz show "The Buzz". Marian Rivera was apparently offended by that smile and she aired her feelings during the presscon of her upcoming movie yesterday.

Karylle explained her side to columnist Ricky Lo, which was published in the Phlippine Star newspaper.

"If there were any misinterpretations of my smile, I clarified it [yesterday] morning when I guested on Boy & Kris. Tito Boy Abunda even apologized for asking me [that question]. Tita Kris Aquino said kasi that it was politically incorrect for him to ask me. I just explained that no matter what I would answer or however my face would react, it would mean something.

"Parang I was in a no-win situation. If I didn't smile, people would say I was bitter. I was actually trying to figure out what to answer and how to phrase it properly. And then, si Tito Boy suddenly said ‘Thank you!' and ended the interview," Karylle explained.

Marian Rivera Offended by Karylle's 'Smile' and Denies She is Pregnant

Marian Rivera categorically denies she is pregnant and that the father allegedly is Dingdong Dantes. In the press conference for her new movie "Desperadas 2" yesterday, Marian had the chance to answer rumors about her pregnancy.

"Hindi po ako buntis," Marian started when asked for her reaction about Karylle's "mysterious" smile in 'The Buzz'.

"Na-hurt ako sa kanya dahil kung ako ang tatanungin ng ganoon, ang isasagot ko 'Wala po akong alam diyan' o 'Wala po ako sa posisyon na sumagot diyan'. Nagkaroon ng malisya ang pag-smile-smile niya. Inaamin ko na-offend ako." Marian further said.

"Makakasagot naman siya dahil may alam naman siya. Sana hindi na lang niya idinaan sa pa-smile smile." she ended, with tears.

Marian Rivera, Pregnant?

Marian Rivera is allegedly pregnant, "courtesy" of Dingdong Dantes, that is if we believe rumors spreading in the showbiz world today.

Some claims that Marian's pregnancy is the real reason in the recent breakup of Dingdong and Karylle.

Rumors became even stronger after Karylle's appearance in The Buzz's Tough 10 Questions segment. Boy Abunda asked Karylle: “I know you have nothing to do with this pero sabi ko nga kasama ka sa kwentong ito, sa iyong pagkakaalam, Karylle, buntis ba si Marian Rivera?”

Karylle said nothing. As her reply, she just smiled and stared back at Boy Abunda.
