Synopsis:

"Friday the 13th" is a horror film which is a reboot of the Friday the 13th film series, whose last film was the 2003 crossover film "Freddy vs. Jason".

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is an upcoming film based on Marvel Comics character Wolverine. The film stars Hugh Jackman as the main character Logan/Wolverine. It is directed by Gavin Hood and is due to hit the big screen on May 1, 2009. It is a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy, focusing on the mutant Wolverine and this time with Team X, before Wolverine's skeleton was bonded with the indestructible metal adamantium.

Synopsis:
Wolverine lives a mutant life, seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who will later become Sabretooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and ultimately ends up going through the mutant Weapon X program.

NIEVES

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" is a remake of the 1951 movie with the same title. It is a science fiction film topbilled by Keanu Reeves as Klaatu under the direction of Scott Derrickson for 20th Century Fox.

Synopsis:
A representative of an alien race that went through drastic evolution to survive its own climate change, Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) comes to Earth to assess whether humanity can prevent the environmental damage they have inflicted on their own planet. Klaatu himself already has a negative opinion of humans, and when detained by Regina Jackson, the United States Secretary of Defense, and barred from speaking to the United Nations, he decides they shall be exterminated so the planet – with its rare ability to sustain complex life – can survive. "Baler" Full Trailer and Synopsis

"Baler" is the official entry of VIVA Films in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. It is topbilled by Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis under the direction of Mark Meily.

It is a story of love that blossomed in the middle of war in 1898.  This happened during the encounter between the 57-man Rifle Batallion of the Spanish military and the Filipino forces, which is now referred as the Siege of Baler.

Feliza Reyes (Anne Curtis) is a young Filipina who fall in love with Celso Resurrecion (Jericho Rosales), a half-Spaniard/half-Filipino (Indio) soldier who chooses to serve the Spaniards against the Filipino insurgents who are fighting for their independence.

Nanding (Phillip Salvador), Feliza's father and a member of the rebel movement, objected to Feliza and Celso's romance. But their love for each other grows so strong that even her father and the war could not break it.

The cast includes Joel Torre, Michael De Mesa, Baron geisler, Nikki Bacolod, Rio Locsin, Carlo Aquino, Ryan eigenmann, Leo Martines, Bernard Palanca, Mark Bautista, Alvin Anson and Jao Mapa. The movie is set to hit the big screen on December 25, 2008.

"Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" Synopsis:

The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron's dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

"Dayo" Full Trailer

Dayo is the first all-digital full-length animated feature film in the Philippines. It is also the first and only of its kind to be included in the Metro Manila Film Festival (which is one of this year's finalist in MMFF).

The film features the voices of Nash Aguas as Bubuy, Katrina Michelle Legaspi as Anna Manananggal and Michael V. as Narsi. Other voice talents include Johnny Delgado, Peque Gallaga (Nano), Laurice Guillen, Pokwang, Noel Trinidad and Nova Villa.

It is directed by Robert Quilao under Cutting Edge Productions. The movie's theme song "Lipad" is performed by Ms. Lea Salonga.

Synopsis:
An 11 year-old kid named Bubuy tries to save his beloved grandparents who have been abducted into Elementalia - a mysterious, mystical and magical land abounding with strange flora and fauna and a host of popular cratures from Philippine mythology.

Bubuy must search for the special ingreddients needed to make the magic potion that will reverse the spell that the abductors placed upon his grandparents (turning them into trees).

This will take Bubuy to a wild and wonderfully funny adventure all over Elementalia. Along the way, he will meet colorful characters and challenging obstacles - kapre, manananggal, tiyanak, tikbalang, bruha, aswang and other creatures in the Philippine underworld.
