"Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat" Leads 2008 MMFF Day 1 Box Office

Ai-Ai delas Alas' "Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat" leads all entries in the Box Office race in the ongoing 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival.

It's the "day of the comedies" as Tito, Vic & Joey's "Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After" come in the no.2 spot in the filmfest's first day of showing.

Most interviewed moviegoers say they lined up for the above movies to "laugh and forget their problems" in the face of the worldwide financial crisis.
"Shake, Rattle & Roll X" also started strong as it ranked 3rd in the opening day. All entries are to be shown until January 7, 2009 and many analysts say that changes in the ranking are to be expected in the coming days.

Philippine Box Office Record: December 10-14, 2008

Newcomer "The Day The Earth Stood Still" started very strong besting all movies last week, banking 24.6 million pesos. "Twilight" slipped to no. 2 spot with 16.2 million, "Quarantine" with 2.7 million and "Scaregivers", which tops all local movies for the last 2 weeks, with 2.1 million pesos.

"One True Love" of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes remains at no.5 with 1.9 million and a total gross of 62.5 million, placing 11th in the top local movies of 2008.

"One True Love" of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes now occupies the 11th spot for the top movies of 2008 and is expected to climb to top 10 in the coming 2 weeks.
