Actor Edu Manzano is running for the vice presidency under the administration ticket. He was chosen by no other than Lakas-Kampi presidential candidate Gibo Teodoro.
the announcement was made today by Department of Interior and Local Government secretary Ronnie Puno, who was the original Vice presidential bet of the party but begged off just recently, in a press conference in Shangrila-Makati.
"The person who has accepted the challenge of standing beside Secretary Teodoro in the quest to become the next president of the Republic of the Philippines and the next vice-president of the Republic of the Philippines, no other than former OMB chairman Edu Manzano," Puno said.
There were conflicting reports earlier about the position and party to which Edu will run. He was reported to run as a senator to Liberal Party, Puwersa ng Masa and Nationalista Party. But Edu said those were just invitations from the afforementioned parties and it's the Lakas-Kampi he selected.
In an interview with TV Patrol tonight, Edu said he chose Lakas-Kampi for the machinery it possesses and that he doesn't want to sell his house again for the campaign just like he did when he run as mayor and lost to now Makati mayor Jejomar Binay.
Edu Manzano is currently hosting ABS-CBN game show "Game ka Na Ba?" and formerly the chairman of Optical Media Board under the Arroyo administration.
