Marvin Sonsona vs Jose Lopez Fight Result

Marvin Sonsona of the Philippines defeated WBO Jr. Bantamweight Champion Jose Lopez in their fight in Canada. Sonsona got the nod of all judges thus winning the fight via unanimous decision.

Lopez was knocked down in the fourth round and tailing the score cards since then. There were some scary moments for Sonsona when he looked like to be out of gas due to body shots from the champion.

Further, Lopez hit Sonsona with a couple of low blows and that hurt Sonsona more. But nevertheless, Sonsona found his rythm and used his long reach advantage and power to surpass Lopez.

The low blows got two point deductions for Lopez and that cost him his title. The final score from the three judges were 114-111, 115-110, and 116-109.

Before the fight, many fight critics and fans were speculationg that Marvin Sonsona is all hype and may just follow the fates of Boom Boom Bautista and AJ Banal. But with tonight's performance of Sonsona, he prove them all wrong and we've got another pinoy world champion.

Marvin Sonsona is the second youngest Filipino boxing world champion next to Morris East.

Sonsona is the third currnet world boxing champion from the Philippines together with Donnie Nietes and Manny Pacquiao.

Sandara Park Goes Solo

Sandara Park is going solo after a very successful stint with the all-female group 2NE1 under YG Entertainment.

A YG Entertainment insider said Sandara Park is going to release a single titled "Kiss" on Monday. "Kiss" is a dance song that expresses a woman's inner mind or desire for her partner to come closer and kiss her.

YG also revealed that Sandara's first single will be released on September 7, 2009 and Sandara will be promoting this song in Korea alone (minus the three 2NE1 members).

But this doesn't mean Sandara is going to leave 2NE1. In fact, her single will be part of 2NE1's new album to be released on October, 2009. YG also revealed that it's not only Sandara who is going to have a solo single. The other three members of 2NE1 will be having their respective solo singles soon.

2NE1 will end their promotion for their latest single "I Don't Care" this week. After that, Sandara will be going solo to promote her first single "Kiss" to her Korean fans.

Kristine Hermosa in "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" Primadonna Issue

Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales' soap "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" is gaining grounds in the primetime. In AGB Nielsen's latest TV ratings, "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" has already climbed to the number 2 spot coming second to "Darna" in the Mega Manila Area. In the TNS national ratings, "DMII" ranked 4th, with "Tayong Dalawa", "May Bukas Pa", and "TV Patrol" in the top 3, but nevertheless beats "Darna", which came fifth, by more than 2%.

Then came the primadonna issue. Kristine has been rumored to be too demanding in the set of "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" like asking for shortened work hours just like veteran actress Lorna Tolentino.

There are also talks of Kristine failed to rport to some in-location tapings since she didn't like the place. The taping was allegedly continued when her demand/request was granted.

Cancellation/delays of tapings were also due to her "attitude problems" and this irked her co-stars in the show.

But Kristine Hermosa's camp categorically denied the issue.

"No, it's not true! Everything is going smoothly. We don;t have problems at all, not that we heard of anything, especially something that involves Kristine," Kristine's handler Alan Real said.

About the tantrums; "Unlikely. That's actually funny. She is not like that at all. She is not one to throw tantrums just so she could have her way." Real added.

“She doesn’t have to ask for anything at all because everything is in the contract to begin with. She wouldn’t have signed up for the show if she will have problems with the schedule and everything,” Real said on the "shortened shooting schedule" issue.

About the issue that Bea Alonzo will replace her if she continues with her tantrums, "That's absurd. Untrue." stressed Alan Real.

Movies, Hosting, Album; Coming to Carla Abellana's Way

Carla Abellana just can't believe the blessings are coming to her career at this early stage. While her debut soap opera is strongly gaining grounds in TV ratings, movie projects, hosting projects and an album literally lined-up for her young showbiz career.

She currently co-hosts in SOP Rules and there is a talk she is going to co-host in the fifth season of StarStruck which is going to start this coming November. Carla will be hosting the reality show with hunks Dingdong Dantes and Raymond Gutierrez.

As contract star of Regal Films, Carla Abellana is going to appear in "Nieves The Engkanto Slayer" together with Marian Rivera which is an entry for the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival. Then her first movie "Ang Nanay Kong Aswang" is also slated this year.

"Mano Po 6", which is also a 2009 MMFF entry, is also lined-up for her which is a big challenge for her since she will be portraying opposite Megastar Sharon Cuneta and hunk Dennis Trillo.

About her album, it is under Universal Records which Carla admitted she is very excited about it.

"They are already preparing songs for the album. We've been attending meetings. My first movie under Regal Films, we'll start taping next month. Hindi pa final e, ang dami pa naming pinag-uusapan. Under negotiation pa ang maraming bagay pero I'm excited about it." Carla said.

Maricar Reyes: The Woman Behind Luis Manzano - Angel Locsin Rift?

Maricar Reyes has been rumored as the woman behind the reported Angel Locsin - Luis Manzano breakup. The rumors just don't die down as a number of showbiz websites and prints rporting this rumor is growing in numbers.

Due to this development, Luiz Manzano finally speaks up during the press conference of his upcoming film with John Lloyd Cruz and mom Vilma Santos titled "In My Life". Luis admitted that their relationship (Luiz and Angel) is going through what he called as a "phase" at the moment. But when asked about the Maricar Reyes angle he quickly denied it saying Maricar has nothing to do with it.

"I'd been hearing the weirdest stories, I don't need to elaborate. Ang sinabi ko never was, never is, walang third party," Luis emphasized to the press.

Maricar Reyes' involvement with the actor was when she was reported to be the leading lady of Luis in "Flash Bomba" but instead the role went to Roxanne Guinoo.
